Spawforth Associates Architects
Tieve Tara Medical Centre, Airedale
Conversion & Extension
£ 1.1 Million
There has been a medical practice at Tieve Tara in Castleford since the early 1920's when Dr. George Sloan practiced medicine there before the days of the National Health Service. The centre has been developed and expanded over the years, but in 2004 required re-working to meet the needs of a modern centre.
Local architect Spawforth Associates, recognised JayTee’s experience and expertise in the medical sector, and presented the challenge to JayTee. The project brief was a new build extension to an existing busy local surgery, as well as comprehensive upgrading to parts of the existing facilities. This challenging project had a very restricted site, required provision of safe public access and minimal disruption to the day-to-day operation of the surgery. Careful design, choice of materials, and JayTee’s attention to detail produced an extension blended and matched to the original building. The project was completed on budget, to the complete satisfaction of the client.
